Precalculus (4th Edition)
Precalculus (4th Edition) Description
The first thing that struck me relating to this book has been the casual firmness. Blitzer writes like he had been a friend describing a concept. He is not afraid to demonstrate helpful acronyms or pneumonic equipment (ASTC – many students get calculus – to help remember which trig functinos were beneficial in which quadrants), and that he often allows hints in the margin that clear things up or elucidate specific mathematical principles. I know these helpful tips have saved my personal skin upon multiple occasions. The opposite connected with Blitzer’s tone is truly one of a stringent and serious mathematics professor. That it was a benefit in hide that my own precalculus teacher was only like this. The girl lectured on the textbook (as well as did a lot poorer job of teaching compared to the book on its own), so I was able to read in advance, take records based on the book (instead of the woman lectures), and take care of the research assignments at college. Blitzer has identified many ways to put on the math to be able to real life, if it involves angular acceleration in physics or human population growth. Obviously, certain issues are pleading to be applied (right pie trigonometry, for instance), yet Blitzer does a fantastic job of making the math seem helpful.
